Considered refurbishment and creation of a single-storey extension and roof terrace for a prestigious Blue Plaque townhouse in the heart of Belgravia, London.
Located at one of the capital’s most esteemed addresses, this magnificent Grade II-listed townhouse was originally developed by the Grosvenor family. As well as obtaining planning permission to extend the residence, we paid careful attention to preserve the home’s character throughout.
Glazed Kitchen Extension
Our initial focus was constructing a single-storey extension to the rear of this impressive 5,000 square foot family home. The new glazed addition enhances the interior space, expanding the kitchen/living area, and linking it with outside. Smaller structural changes, such as removing a downstairs bathroom, maximises the ground floor further, giving the family even more space to play with.
Heritage Details
Our townhouse renovation team are adept at melding original features with new. The central Victorian staircase was fully revived and restored, along with classic wood panelling flanking the walls. Tired fireplaces were replaced with Victorian replicas, and elegant ceiling mouldings and cornicing were brought back to life. Bespoke joinery played a pivotal role in this restoration. Our carpenters and joiners created a suite of made-to-measure storage, including curved oak cabinets. The final touch was designing and fitting a bespoke fitted wine room.
Bespoke Hammam Steam Room
Several luxury features were installed during this renovation. Expansive rooflights were added to the downstairs ceilings, opening up the interior. Bathrooms were refurbished and updated with classic British-made suites and column radiators. And for the ultimate home pampering experience, we designed and constructed a Hammam steam room. Featuring sumptuous marble seating and steam bath, it’s the perfect place to unwind.
